No goodbyes, Please.

I'll keep this post a short one.

Today's the final day for the Victorians of class 2008.

Every single greeting of a "hello" will be ended off with a "goodbye".

Sweeping statement.

Scrutinize every single word below, and you'll understand.

VICTORIA SCHOOL

Nil sine labore.
We felt but did not grasp
That truth, until the years.
The changing age confirmed severely:
Nothing without labour,
Nothing is for free.

You grew us well,
Mother of our youth,
Gave grave to toughness,
Tuned mind and feeling.
Our teachers scolded out of love.
We loved them with the fevour
That only mischief has.

We learnt quarrelled laughed,
Little enemies, great friends
In classroom lab assembly
Below the arches of the Hall.
Upon the tower built by Amin
Bock Hai and their scouting gang.

We shared ourselves, so
Found ourselves: Henry Aziz Boey
Soon Khiang Beng Keng Peter Poh
Guan Noordin Eric Heng Goe
Dhanabalan Teo Yong Chua Seng,
Among the intricacies of calculus,
Adverbial phrase, The Rover,
There was the steadying of the eye
As a though struck deep with beauty,
Or growing symmetry, sudden revelation
We did not feel the day go by

The faces appear each year
Along the corridors to labour, love,
Learn, They too will know
That here our better youth was spent,
That what we are was seeded then.

We do not return to you, mother,
Because we never really left.

I'm not making this post a sad one though. Coz I, myself, can't take the heat. xD

I wonder how will I be on the 10th October 2009.

To all Sec 4s:

You have certainly played a great role in my life, your juniors' lives.
Enjoying yourselves in your work and always making things look so easy. xD
(They love to keep their problems to themselves, so that their juniors will not have to
worry about anything. Right? =D )

What is a world without seniors to guide you?

You have shown me a clear pathway as seniors in Victoria School.
And I hope you'll stick with that route too, always.

'O's.

One Goal.
One Final Goal.

Let's play your part, for the last time, as a student, in keeping her flag unfurled.

And,

Please, No goodbyes.

Please.
