Boiling Point

I can't stand this anymore.

I can't stand seeing a group of people spurting unsupported statements.

Especially in the fields of religion.

An example.

There was a point in time when two groups debated about the greatness of Einstein and Newton. Group A sided with Einstein as the greater one. Group B sided with Newton as the greater one. In that debate, both listed down all the great achievements and discoveries of their own preferred Scientist.

He did this and that, this and that.

But little did they realize that in order for them to debate about this, they have to know BOTH scientists as much as they can. It's just unfair if they input MOST of their energy in knowing just one scientist, and little about the other.

Tell me now, is that fair? Does that action bring you an un-opened mind?

Do you know what is that called? Mental Masturbation. It is the act of engaging in useless yet intellectually stimulating conversation, usually as an excuse to avoid taking constructive action in your life. It is the act of engaging in intelligent and interesting conversation purely for the enjoyment of your own greatness and individuality.

I personally don't think that, THAT is a fair and objective-orientated debate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, in religious context.

Is it possible for you to condemn other people's religion, if you yourself haven't READ and UNDERSTAND the intricate concepts? Is it BIASED if you're just taking some chunks from the net, and spilling that poison without seeing concrete evidences?

For me, and certainly for some other people whom I know, we've seen debates which EVIDENCES are initially justified by BOTH parties. These debates have the similar concept as the "Einstein and Newton debate", which is to argue about which is better than the other. But the special beauty of these debates that I've watched is that; one party will side with its stand and the other will prove the stand false and disorientated.

We can clearly see that one party knows TONS more than the other party. In fact, that very party understands the concepts of the opposing party, too. In addition to that, that party used the opposing party's evidence to show how misguided their contradictory beliefs are. That party is made up of just one man. And in some cases, he debates alone, facing few other debaters at the same time.

Well, enough said by me.

I don't really want to express my thoughts about religion here, as I believe that 'freedom of speech' has its extent. If you want to know what this post is addressing about, inform me about your intent. But, after which, you must approach this topic with an open-mind, and be ready to spend hours to watch the debates.

[Oh and i think that one of my friend, who probably has fallen *erghm*ASLEEP*erghm*, might know what this post refers to, and has more knowledge in explaining it to you.]
